LOL, Outlaw!
You had to really s-t-r-e-t-c-h for that one, but you got it!
#8 "jehovah's witnesses" is our scriptural name!
jehovah's witnesses are taught (and believe) by their hierarchy in brooklyn that the name of their religion is based on the bible itself.
a little bit of research comprehensively reveals that the statement which was written in isaiah 43:10 about the jewish nation 700 years before christians appeared, has been corruptly and un-scripturally adopted as a "god-given" name.

my husband's gone to his meeting and i'm catching up with folks here on our forum.
i'm sure i'm having a better time :) anyway, was just following some posts regarding the un and there happened to be a copy of a magazine article stating brothers wouldn't want to be joining the "y" because it was "christian".
i think this was back in the 1950's (maybe not).
This is an interesting question.
I went to the homepage of the YMCA and read their "History" pages. Good stuff, well-intentioned and upright. In part, it tells us:
"George Williams founded the YMCA in 1844.
In 1844, industrialized London was a place of great turmoil and despair. For the young men who migrated to the city from rural areas to find jobs, London offered a bleak landscape of tenement housing and dangerous influences.
Twenty-two-year-old George Williams, a farmer-turned-department store worker, was troubled by what he saw. He joined 11 friends to organize the first Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA), a refuge of Bible study and prayer for young men seeking escape from the hazards of life on the streets.
Although an association of young men meeting around a common purpose was nothing new, the Y offered something unique for its time. The organization’s drive to meet social need in the community was compelling, and its openness to members crossed the rigid lines separating English social classes.
Years later, retired Boston sea captain Thomas Valentine Sullivan, working as a marine missionary, noticed a similar need to create a safe “home away from home” for sailors and merchants. Inspired by the stories of the Y in England, he led the formation of the first U.S. YMCA at the Old South Church in Boston on December 29, 1851..."
I note with no small amusement (i am EASILY amused) that the YMCA was well underway BEFORE Pastor Russell had his scheme hatch.
On the official YMCA website there is no statement that "The Y" is no longer a "Christian organization. I have sent them an email requesting clarification.
If they reply I will update here.

All good points!
Coming at this from a slightly different angle, we have the argument from Tony Wills, author of "A People for His Name: A History of Jehovah's Witnesses and an Evaluation," that the only real "naming" authorized for God's People is found in Isaiah 62:3-5 (NIV):
"You will be a crown of splendor in the Lord’s hand, a royal diadem in the hand of your God. No longer will they call you Deserted, or name your land Desolate. But you will be called Hephzibah, and your land Beulah; for the Lord will take delight in you, and your land will be married. As a young man marries a young woman, so will your Builder marry you; as a bridegroom rejoices over his bride, so will your God rejoice over you."
So the name should NOT be "Jehova's Witnesses," but "Hephzibah".
Really rolls off the tongue, doesn't it?
a few years on and the funeral of my jw momma still galls me.
she left instructions for which kingdom songs to be sung and we gladly abided by her wishes.
the funeral was held in a public crematorium, not a kingdom hall.
I've been thinking of having my cremation at a local open- air pit barbecue place.
What sauces would be appropriate? I wouldn't want to stumble anyone...

it's always good to be able to identify when we may be exhibiting some of these behaviors or, hopefully more likely, to spot the behaviors in others and help avoid the impact they can have.
...and you know how spiritual i am!.
right?.

I would have gone with the disco version of the Star Wars theme...

i am currently arranging for mediation to have her more often .
her mother can not stand that i am living with another woman and doesn't want her here .
You want suggestions about how to FORCE an adult to keep company with you.
I guess you're expecting that she will not choose to be with you of her OWN FREE WILL.
Do a Google search for "kidnapping techniques."
